So you are in India and you obviously head to the obvious destination that everyone goes to – God’s Own Land – Kerala. Wouldn’t you want to know how to go round the beach tours here in the pristine background of Kerala backwaters.

Take a tour where you would start from Mumbai. Reach the Mumbai airport and you would be taken to the hotel. A unique Indian welcome and you would stay overnight at the hotel. Go around Mumbai the next day and would also get to visit the Elephanta caves. After a good sightseeing here, you would be taken to Cochin and at the Cochin airport again you would be received by a representative. From here you would go on a drive to Periyar. Here you would be taken to a hotel, and the place is a mini paradise amidst the cardamom hills in the western ranges in India. Here you would be later taken to Thekkady the perfect wildlife haven in this part of India. The variety of flora and fauna here would enthrall you and you would be sucked into the ambience. The next morning you would be taken on a boat cruise to have a look at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. This artificial lake here has been created by the Periyar Dam. At the centre of the sanctuary you would have the best of wildlife like Black Buck, Asiatic Deer and tigers. It is lovely to see the tigers coming here to drink from the lake. This is a place which has spices of various varieties.

After this you are taken to a tour of the Western Ranges – The Western Ghats. The lovely tea gardens here fascinate you and the paddy fields here as also the palm trees enhance the entire experience.

As you approach Kumarakom, you would get the feel of the village in the pristine backwaters of South India. The lovely Lake Vembanad, with a myriad network of water bodies and cottages of yore make this the perfect holiday spot. There are cottages and resorts here which give you the best forms of rejuvenation and relaxation. There are native boats seen rowing and the scenic beauty and the entire experience is out of the world.

If you are at Kumarakom then enjoy the Kerala backwaters and go on a cruise in this. The vanjis or the canoes here are a major attraction. As we go on the cruise we can see the locals working in the paddy fields and this scene lingers in the memories for a long time to come.

Nothing beats the feeling of being in a Kettuvallam or a house boat in these crystal clear virgin Kerala backwaters, and you must make it a point to enjoy this.

Enjoy this and then the next day experience the fishing village Mararikulam.
